MANCHESTER, UK. 4th April 2025 – SYSPRO has released new research to support executives in mid-sized organisations considering the value of implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in their business.

Manufacturing and distribution organisations require practical tools to drive growth and cultivate a data-driven culture that empowers decision-makers throughout the supply and value chains.

“In today’s digital age, effective data management, security, and storage have become critical for any significant twenty-first-century business. And yet, many manufacturers and distributors are struggling with legacy systems that fail to support their long-term growth aspirations,” says Nick McGrane, Managing Director of NexSys, A SYSPRO Company.

This information was revealed during a webinar hosted by SYSPRO, which discussed the company’s new e-book, A Guide to Successful ERP System Implementation. This e-book, compiled by leading market intelligence and strategy firm Frost Sullivan, is a treasure trove of essential information on investment considerations, avoiding pitfalls, and best implementation practices. It provides the knowledge that various companies have identified as essential to ensure sustainable value. By asking 10 essential questions, companies can evaluate whether an ERP solution can unlock their full potential in the foreseeable future.

Digital transformation is necessary to drive growth in the sector
The manufacturing and distribution sectors are among the most data-intensive industries globally. In today’s digital age, effective data management, security, and storage are critical for any significant twenty-first-century business.

As businesses expand, many recognise the increasing need for a robust system to manage their data and processes effectively. An inefficient operating system with manually linked components can lead to significant time and resource wastage, particularly when accessing vital information. Investing in a digital transformation journey positions organisations for sustainable growth. This is where an effective data management system’s value becomes evident.

The report has been specifically compiled for decision-makers in mid-sized organisations and aims to provide essential information on investment considerations, avoiding pitfalls, and best implementation practices that various companies have identified as essential to ensuring sustainable value.

Modernising systems through digital transformation is key
When businesses rely on disconnected systems with minimal integration, employees and managers often spend excessive time collecting data. This data is essential for tracking profitability, identifying operational trends, and making informed decisions.

On average, the companies analysed allocated approximately 3% of their operating budget to ERP implementation costs. The study revealed, however, that nearly half of the respondents are not just increasing but planning to double their technology spending over the next five years. This reflects a strong and accelerating commitment to enhancing their technological capabilities.

“As manufacturers and distributors expand their operations, the complexity of their processes tends to increase, placing additional strain on both systems and personnel. This shift in expenditure underscores the growing recognition of technology as a critical driver of efficiency and competitiveness in the manufacturing and distribution sectors,” says McGrane.

This globally recognised quality standard for medical device manufacturing marks a critical milestone in the company’s path to market, demonstrating high quality, low risk and customer-focused manufacturing capability.

The certification confirms that 4D Biomaterials Ltd operates under a quality management system that meets stringent international regulatory requirements — a core prerequisite for the raw materials used in medical devices seeking regulatory approvals, clinical deployment, and global distribution. As such, certification significantly de-risks the company’s commercial strategy.

Phil Smith, CEO of parent company, 4D Medicine Ltd commented:

“This achievement is a pivotal moment for our materials manufacturing business. ISO 13485 certification validates its operational systems and sends a clear signal to partners and investors: we are ready to scale. It also reflects the maturity of our technology platform, the discipline of our team, and our commitment to executing a high-quality commercialisation strategy.”

This milestone positions 4D to accelerate the development of commercial partnerships, regulatory approvals, and revenue-generating opportunities as it advances its differentiated product pipeline toward global markets.

LEICESTERSHIRE, UK. March 4th, 2025 – Notts Sport, the UK’s leading specialist in play and sports surfacing, is excited to announce the launch of CocoTurf, the world’s first non-plastic artificial turf made entirely from natural coconut fibres. This groundbreaking product offers a sustainable, eco-friendly solution for playgrounds and recreational spaces, combining durability, performance, and environmental responsibility.
In a world where environmental consciousness is becoming increasingly important, Notts Sport proudly presents CocoTurf as an alternative to traditional synthetic grass, which often relies on plastic materials. With CocoTurf, the company has redefined the concept of artificial turf by eliminating the use of plastics, microplastics, and per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), all while maintaining the high standards of performance and safety expected from play surfaces.
CocoTurf is crafted from coconut husks, a renewable natural resource processed into durable, high-performance fibres. The surface is backed by certified natural rubber latex, making it 100% non-plastic and free from toxic substances. The result is a safe, environmentally friendly, long-lasting surface perfect for children’s playgrounds, schools, parks, and other high-traffic areas. The materials used in CocoTurf are entirely natural and non-toxic, providing a safer option for outdoor play without the environmental concerns typically associated with artificial turf.
A key advantage of CocoTurf is its environmental impact. Unlike traditional synthetic turf, CocoTurf utilises natural coconut fibres, making it more sustainable and can biodegrade. Not only does this reduce the risk of harmful microplastics entering the environment, but it also minimises the carbon footprint typically associated with manufacturing plastic-based surfaces. Furthermore, CocoTurf is designed to stand up to the elements, offering high levels of durability even in the most demanding conditions.
In terms of production, each coconut produces approximately 200 grams of usable fibres, and the husks of 600 coconuts provide sufficient fibres to cover a 60-square-metre children’s play area.
Duncan Bennett, CEO of Notts Sport, shared his excitement about this revolutionary product: “This is a milestone in the evolution of outdoor play surfaces. Our drive to find ever more sustainable surfacing solutions has led us to invent the world’s first non-plastic synthetic grass—CocoTurf. This is not just another product—it’s a revolution in sustainability. For the first time, communities can install an artificial surface without the harmful impact of plastics. This is the future of play surfaces, and we’re thrilled to lead the charge.”
CocoTurf’s design and performance make it the perfect choice for anyone seeking an environmentally responsible, durable, and safe surfacing solution. It promises to transform playgrounds and parks, providing an eco-friendly alternative that meets the highest safety and performance standards while reducing traditional artificial turf’s environmental footprint.
With CocoTurf, Notts Sport is paving the way toward a greener, more sustainable future for outdoor recreational spaces. By choosing CocoTurf, communities can enjoy the benefits of artificial turf while safeguarding the planet and the health of future generations.

ESSEX, UK. February 17th, 2025 – The global auto parts manufacturing market is projected to reach $532 billion by 2029, driven by increasing vehicle demand and technological advancement. While next-generation manufacturing promises rapid solutions through 3D printing and automation, automotive experts caution that compromising on component authenticity could impact vehicle performance and, more importantly, driver and passenger safety.
Cox Motor Parts, a leading authorised distributor of genuine Honda, SEAT, and Volkswagen components, has established itself as a trusted source for OEM automotive parts across the UK. Its advanced VIN-based parts identification system and multi-point authenticity validation process ensures drivers receive factory-certified components that maintain optimal vehicle performance and safety standards.

“Honda’s quality assessments show that 80% of competitor brake discs fail to meet Honda’s engineering standards,” states Dan O’Hare, Manager at Cox Motor Parts. “Genuine Honda components are precisely engineered for each model. Using non-genuine alternatives can compromise ABS performance and extend braking distances – a risk no driver should take.”

While non-genuine parts may offer initial cost savings, their use often compromises performance and increases service requirements. These aftermarket alternatives typically need more frequent replacement, which impacts both vehicle reliability and the frequency of time spent in a workshop. This pattern of repeated garage visits disrupts customers’ daily schedules and creates transportation challenges.

“We consistently see how genuine parts maximise vehicle performance and safety,” explains O’Hare.”Beyond the immediate performance benefits, customers see longer component life and maintained vehicle warranty coverage, which is important in keeping the total ownership cost down.”

Modern vehicle systems rely on precise component integration, from powertrain management to emissions control, and non-manufacturer parts can trigger efficiency losses and system alerts. This is particularly true for vehicles equipped with advanced sensor networks and integrated safety features, as these sophisticated systems demand exact calibration tolerances and continuous communication between components to maintain optimal safety performance.

When evaluating the complete ownership experience, including diagnostic time, maintenance requirements, and potential system issues, the initial cost advantage of alternative parts often translates to higher expenses throughout the vehicle’s service life. This total cost assessment becomes particularly significant when considering manufacturer warranty requirements, specialised diagnostic equipment needs, and the increasing complexity of vehicle electronic systems that demand precise component calibration.

Cox Motor Parts
makes finding the right components straightforward through their efficient online platform. Their smart parts finder checks vehicle registration or VIN numbers so car owners can be confident they are getting the right SEAT, Honda or Volkswagen parts at a competitive price. They also offer flexible delivery options, including next-day service, so they’re the reliable choice for drivers who value both quality and value.

MELTON MOWBRAY, UK. January 24th, 2025Saint-Gobain PAM UK has appointed NCM Auctions to manage the complete clearance of its Holwell Works foundry in Melton Mowbray. The Yorkshire-based auction and asset management specialists will also oversee the asset recovery across the entire site.

The Holwell foundry was established in the 1870s and has been a significant part of Melton Mowbray’s industrial heritage for over 150 years thanks to its success in manufacturing access covers and gully gratings for the road, water and utility industries. Despite its achievements, the site’s closure follows a production transfer to their Saint-Gobain PAM sister facility at Blénod, France – a move that will halve PAM UK’s road ironwork carbon emissions and help their customers reach their net zero ambitions.

Under this significant contract, NCM will execute a comprehensive site clearance program at Holwell Works. The program will combine careful decommissioning with optimised asset value recovery through an auction and private treaty sales. The project showcases Saint-Gobain PAM’s commitment to responsible site management, with NCM ensuring full compliance with environmental and safety standards compliance throughout the clearance process.

The exclusive online auction covers the processing, manufacturing lines and machinery across the entire nine-acre site, including melting and moulding plants, finishing and assembly lines, workshops and scrap metal recovery.

The online catalogue features a wide array of specialist foundry equipment, including induction furnaces, dip ovens, manipulators and overhead magnet cranes, along with robotic welders, lathes, milling machines, compressors, conveyors, hoppers and much more.

While some companies may wish to dispose of only several high-value assets, PAM is committed to a sustainable approach by repurposing and recycling equipment and machinery across the site. This approach benefits the local community, small businesses, and charities and prevents these items from ending up in landfill.

Amy Rutherford, Partnership Lead at NCM, said: “This contract award from Saint-Gobain PAM represents a significant milestone for NCM Auctions and reinforces our position as a trusted and leading partner for specialised industrial site clearances like the Holwell Works site.

“Saint-Gobain PAM’s commitment to sustainability aligns with our approach, where valuable resources are repurposed, recycled and reintegrated into the circular economy.

“Due to the size and scale of this site, the auction includes hundreds of assets, from specialist foundry and steelmaking lines to industrial machinery that will be suitable for a wide variety of manufacturing applications. We’ve already had a lot of interest from overseas buyers.”

The catalogue is online now and bidding ends from 1pm on Thursday, 20 February.

Private Treaty offers are also being considered. Interested parties or those wanting to arrange viewings can contact NCM on 01302 898260 or email for more information.
